What a beautiful picture book!

The Boy Who Wanted to Fly explores the freedom of childhood and making kites. With subtle disability representation, our main character (who is in a wheelchair), doesn't give up on his dream to fly by watching the birds and building his kite with his sister. There are so many inspiring qualities that make this book a must-have for a child's libraries:

-If at first you don't succeed, try try again.
-Don't let anything hold you back from your dreams.
-Quality sibling time.
-Accepting help when you need it.
-And a unique history on kites.

Overall, it's a beautifully illustrated picture book that captures the whimsy of being a child. This would be a special gift paired with a kite :)
