“Kayla Travels in Her Dreams is a great intro to cultural reading for very young children.”
Review by Rayleigh Setser
A book about travel and the Love for Family
In the book Kayla Travels in Her Dreams a little girl is overcome with sadness when she learns that she won’t be able to travel with her family for the holidays. As she sits on her mom’s lap and cries herself to sleep, she dreams about those places she wanted to visit.
Despite her excitement for her adventures and travels, Kayla can’t help but miss her family. After visiting several exciting places around the world Kayla wakes up to find herself nestled in her mother’s arms. She is overcome by a warm feeling of happiness knowing that home is where her family is.
Kyra is honored to have the illustrations drawn by a neurodivergent artist. Kayla Travels in her Dreams is also available in a parents and educators kit.

Kayla falls asleep crying after her parents tell her that they won't be able to travel for the holidays. During her dreams, she travels to Dubai, Egypt, and many other places with her friends, learning the importance of family. This was a cute book. Very simply told with the illustrations revealing most of the country-specific sights to see, Kayla Travels in Her Dreams is a great intro to cultural reading for very young children. The illustrations are extremely bright colored and the author has lots of activity sheets included on her website to use the book in classrooms. This is a great resource for teachers and parents who may be looking for unique books to introduce new cultures to their kids! I received this book for free from the author/publisher.
