Did that grab your attention?! It definitely grabbed mine (Rayleigh) when it came across my email!
If you’ve been around Literature Approved recently, you may have noticed that we have changed our purchase links from Amazon and other well-known book retailers to Bookshop.org–when books are available there. This is because after much investigation, we really like what we see here.
Bookshop.org allows “mom and pop” bookstores to have an online shopping presence. Just like if you were to search through Amazon for a book, Bookshop.org has thousands of books to pick from, BUT, you have the option to “choose a bookstore” to support with your purchase (much like Amazon’s SMILE charity program)! Once you select the bookstore you’d like to support, that bookstore gets a percentage of the sale! This means you can pick your favorite local bookstore, and if they don’t have the book you’re looking for when you go, you can STILL support them with your online purchase instead of buying from Amazon.
After 2020 crippled so many small businesses, this is an incredible way to help the community and ensure that our favorite bookstores stay around for a while longer!
NOW…
That is why we have switched our purchase links to Bookshop.org, but this sweepstakes that they are doing took me by absolute shock and I couldn’t NOT share it! In order to help them get the word out about Bookshop.org, this sweepstakes is made to be shared! The fastest way to get entries is to share, share, share (clearly I’m entering, my friend, what do you take me for? Free books for life would be a dream come true!)!
The prize and disclaimers are explained on this page, as well as opportunity to WIN! Best of luck to you all, and even if you don’t win the sweepstakes, I hope you consider purchasing your books through Bookshop.org!
