Review:

As a running joke, I’ve always said that I live my life by the Bible and Dave Ramsey. And even though it’s more of a silly thing I say to show how much I appreciate Dave Ramsey’s teachings, the older I’ve gotten, the more I begin to realize that there might actually be some truth to that statement.

I was one of the fortunate, and very few–I’m learning, children who grew up with the Junior financial books that the Ramsey foundation first released in the early 2000s. Because of that, I have been indoctrinated with Dave Ramsey’s money teachings from a very young age, and as I’ve grown up and encountered others my age, I’ve seen what a HUGE advantage that gave me in the real world. I’ve personally seen the success that managing money RIGHT can have on one’s life.

And since I’ve seen the benefits of applying Ramsey’s wisdom in the area of money, I was excited to listen to his book, EntreLeadership, which is a book for both business entrepreneurs AND leaders. I walked away from this book with SO MUCH GOODNESS.

Just because this book has the word “business” in its title does not mean that it’s only for business owners! If you’re a leader, in any way, shape, or form, there is some valuable leadership lessons in here for you! Personally, I don’t consider myself an entrepreneur because I really don’t intend to own my own business in the future, BUT, I am striving to be this new coined term: EntreLeader, at the place of business I work.

Even if you never want to “own a business”, the odds are that you likely want to advance to a higher rank within the company you currently work for, or in the future, and to do that, even if you’re not the one writing the checks, you will still need to know how to lead well. And THAT is reason enough to pick up this book!

Dave Ramsey shares all of his ups and downs as examples. He tells what worked and what didn’t work for him. He gives excellent business advice, he gives excellent parenting advice, and of course, leadership advice. This is, quite frankly, one of those books that EVERYONE should be able to get at least something out of , even if it’s only one chapter. It’s just an all around, good book to read. For dreamers, for workaholics, for parents, etc. There’s something here for everyone.
