Review
Patriots, Redcoats and Spies is an excellent book for ages 10 to 12 that I would suggest, to homeschooling moms, to read while studying the Revolutionary War.
It is full of wonderful information, as well as a well painted picture of what it may have looked like (on the level of middle-school), and is just an all around engaging book. The readers will be able to understand the easy writing of the author(s) and the characters are easy to connect with.
Some of the scenes do get vivid but they never exceed the limit of a good, wholesome, middle-grade fiction book. Boys especially will love reading this book, but I’m sure that there are many girls who would also equally enjoy this story.
I rate Patriots, Redcoats and Spies 5 out of 5 stars and recommend this book especially to home schooling parents, as it is a great book to assign (or read aloud) to your young student when studying the Revolutionary War.
