I received this book from the author for the purpose of this review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own.
Henry and the Hidden Treasure is an imaginative adventure a young child has in defending his pocket money against his little sister. Henry constructs elaborate defensive measures that he is sure will stand up to the clever ambitions of Lucy. Little does he know, Lucy has a few tricks of her own.
Henry and the Hidden Treasure is a cute book about a boy that wants to keep his “pocket money” safe from his little sister.
The illustrations are cute and interactive, the story is creative and adventurous, and the kids are subtly told that giving and thinking of others will put a smile on other’s faces. I also like that the story encourages kids to save their money rather than to spend it constantly.
There is a brief mention of monsters when Henry assigns some monsters to guard his treasure, also a dragon and some other mythical/adventurous characters that are charged to guard his treasure. But nothing is portrayed as “scary”.
I was very pleased with Henry and the Hidden Treasure and give it 5 out of 5 stars.
