In this short, educational book about martial arts, Mr. Lieberman’s enthusiasm is tangible and infectious to the reader. After reading this book, I’m definitely considering taking a martial arts class so that I can learn more about the stances that the book talks about. This book would be especially helpful for someone who has already attended a martial arts class and needs a guide for practicing at home.
I’m a visual learner, so it was challenging for me to understand the steps and movements without watching a video or having an in-person coach. It also would be great to have further links at the end of the book where readers can further explore the history of martial arts or maybe sign up for a local class. For this reason, I would give this book four stars.
In conclusion, Mr. Lieberman’s book is clear, simple, and succinct. It’s a great introduction to the world of martial arts for a beginner.
